Fire Protection for Oil, Gas & Energy

Hydrocarbon facilities carry some of the highest fire and explosion risks of any sector. Adiga Fire supplies, installs, commissions and maintains fire protection for oil, gas and energy sites across all seven emirates — compliant with the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice and your Civil Defence authority.

The fire hazards of oil, gas & energy sites

Refineries, tank farms, gas processing plants, fuel depots, loading racks, power stations and offshore-supporting facilities all handle large volumes of flammable liquids and gases. The dominant risks are pool and running fires on hydrocarbon surfaces, flammable gas releases that can find an ignition source, and vapour clouds in confined or poorly ventilated areas. Because a single event can escalate quickly and the consequence of failure is severe, protection here is engineered around early detection, rapid containment and reliable suppression rather than a single line of defence.

Suppression and cooling for flammable-liquid hazards

For Class B hydrocarbon hazards, water alone is rarely enough — a fire-fighting foam is needed to blanket the fuel surface, seal in vapour and cool the area. We supply and install foam suppression systems using low-expansion concentrates such as AFFF for hydrocarbon fuels and AR-AFFF for polar, water-miscible solvents, and we advise on fluorine-free (F3) options where these are specified. For storage tanks, process units and loading areas, deluge and water-spray systems deliver high water-application rates for cooling and exposure protection, fed by reliable fire pumps sized to the hazard. Selection, application rates and listings always follow the project's fire strategy and the relevant code.

Detection in hazardous areas

On energy sites, detecting a fire or a gas release in seconds matters. We supply and install flame and gas detection integrated with the site fire alarm and control systems, so that a confirmed event can trigger alarms, shutdowns and suppression. In classified hazardous areas, equipment must be suitable for the zone in which it is installed, and field devices and cabling are specified accordingly. Detection is engineered as part of the wider cause-and-effect scheme rather than fitted in isolation.

Compliance, installation and ongoing maintenance

Every system we deliver is built to satisfy the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice and your Civil Defence authority. We handle Civil Defence approvals and NOCs, carry out installation and commissioning to an inspection-ready standard, and keep systems compliant through a planned maintenance contract (AMC). On high-consequence sites, scheduled testing and prompt rectification are what keep protection dependable — see our annual fire safety checklist for the routine that keeps systems audit-ready. Adiga Fire is a supplier and contractor; we supply, install, commission and maintain genuine, certified products and are not the manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

Which suppression system is right for a fuel tank farm or loading rack?

Hydrocarbon storage and loading hazards are typically protected with foam suppression to blanket the fuel surface, combined with deluge or water-spray cooling for tanks and exposures. The exact agent, application rate and listing follow the site's fire strategy and the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice — we confirm the right specification for your hazard.

Do you provide flame and gas detection for hazardous areas?

Yes. We supply and install flame and gas detection integrated with the site alarm and shutdown control, with field equipment selected to suit the classified zone in which it is installed. Detection is designed as part of the wider cause-and-effect scheme rather than fitted in isolation.

Can you maintain fire systems on an operating oil and gas facility?

Yes — we offer planned annual maintenance contracts (AMC) covering inspection, testing, refilling and servicing to keep systems compliant and inspection-ready. On high-consequence sites we coordinate scheduled work around your operations so protection stays dependable year-round.
